As a Counselling Psychologist I have worked with many different psychological and emotional problems and trauma of varying degrees and severity. In addition I am a sexual and relationship therapist with an abiding interest in working with individuals and couples with sexual and relationship issues. Over the last 30 years I have worked in GP primary care, teaching hospitals aas well as the voluntary and private health sectors. I have had the privilege of working with a wide variety of clients and mental health issues ranging from anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, fears, phobias as well as everyday life and work related issues.
I also have a special interest in helping clients with health related problems such as illness, pain, disability and emotional wellbeing following accidents or trauma. As a disabled person myself since childhood I have both the professional and personal experience to understand and support clients in this specialist area.
I originally developed an interest in psychology at art school in the late 1960s and studied at Goldsmith College into the early 1970s, with a special interest in visual poetry, film, television and psychology. I returned to studying psychology and qualified as a Chartered Counselling Psychologist.
I have continued to work with the media both as an advisor and contributor, and for some years wrote an 'agony column' for a monthly magazine. I believe my early background in art and media has given me an understanding of the issues that face people working in the creative industries, art and media and continue with having clients who work in these areas.
I have a private practice in Raynes Park, SW London where I see both couples and individuals.
