SP-PSYCHOLOGY

Disability, Chronic Illness & Ageing

Living with disability, long-term illness or the effects of ageing can affect far more than physical health – including identity, relationships, independence and emotional wellbeing.

I offer therapy informed by professional expertise and by my own daily lived experience of significant physical disability. I understand that every person’s situation is different, but I hope to offer a grounded and realistic perspective on the challenges that arise – including their impact on sexuality and close relationships.

I am familiar with medical language and clinical frameworks, but my approach goes beyond these to consider the psychological, emotional, relational and social dimensions of illness and disability.

I have taught and written on disability and sexuality for both professionals and disabled people, and work flexibly, including via Zoom.
